New CD "Flies (in your face) Again."

After the enthusiastic response to our first album, "Hot Cha," we knew it was only a matter of time before we had to do another. So, last March we all gathered again in the Elk Fork Studios log cabin and recorded fifteen new tunes. Check out the "CDs and stuff" page for the exciting details.

John's Banjo Gets Major Overhaul!

Sometime during the 2006 season we began to notice that John's beloved Vega 4-string banjo was beginning to sound...well....bad. It became harder and harder to keep in tune until finally, only the raccoons on the porch were still singing along. John searched for months until he found a master craftsman who specializes in Vegas. Finally, after a long, dark, Vegaless winter, the banjo is back, sounding better and LOUDER than ever.

Hot Soup Is Served Up At School!

Believe it or not, it's true! In February, Hot Duck Soup was invited to perform for the students at the Burnsville elementary, middle, and high schools. Sponsored by the Toe River Arts Council, these concerts showcased a variety of old jazz and novelty tunes along with a little history of the events going on when the songs were composed. There were two big hits at all of the concerts. The band strummed "Ukulele Lady" while both the students AND the teachers got to stand up and do the hula. And Rob Levin's "Underwear Blues brought down the house. The band got lots of great fan letters. Thanks everyone!

Hot Duck Soup Becomes Hot Party Band!

It shouldn't surprise anyone these days to learn that Hot Duck Soup is becoming known as THE band to hire if you're throwing a big bash. The day after our first party gig we learned that a couple who had the misfortune not to be invited were sitting on their porch deep in the woods a mile or so from the scene of the party enjoying a glass of wine in the fine summer evening. Then...they were aware of a strange sound echoing through the forest. "Is that the RODEO?" one of them asked. They listened a bit more, then realized with astonishment..."that sounds like HOT DUCK SOUP!"

So remember...we are always available for parties, but it's probably a good idea to invite your neighbors.
